Dante Thomas American R&B Singer and Musician

Who is Dante Thomas? Lets start with a kid from SLC, UT. He came from the boulevard of broken homes and dreams, fueled by an unquenchable fire, blessed with the voice and gift of old Motown. He started from humble beginnings, the son of an opera singer, being taught to never give up or give in. 18yrs young, he heads to NYC, praying and working for his dream. Finally getting a break, he goes gold and platinum with a song called “Miss California”.

He begins touring with N’SYNC. He rubs shoulders and parties with the best of them. He cuts songs with Pink, Akon, Nick Carter, Pras, Neyo, Boys2Men, Intro and Snoop Dogg. He works with Scott Storch, Chucky Thompson, Vada Nobles, and Easy Mo Bee. But, like so many artist’s, he lost himself in the smoke and mirrors of the music industry.

If he were like most other artist’s, who have experienced such madness, he would have let his ship sink years ago.Yet he still believes his dreams are as magical and relevant as ever. He knows if he buries his talent in the ground, he might as well spit in Gods face. Besides, he also seeks to prove the doubter’s and the haters wrong, and at the same time, give his fans and the world, an artist that wasn’t created by corporate media, but an artist made from good old fashioned blood, sweat, and tears, the stuff legends are forged from. He analyzes his weakness’s and corrects them. He crafts a new album, he cuts his body up like a Roman statue. He reaches for Heaven, because he knows that in reaching for Heaven, the least he’ll attain is the golden gates. The 10th Annual “Messiah” Video Release

March 28, 2012 in News by TMC

Christmas and Easter comes together in the production of ”The 10th Annual Messiah: It was a  Community Celebration that took place at the Grand Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah this past December but the message is carried on though our daily lives.

In this video production you will see B Murphy and The Salt Lake Community Choir once again give the true meaning of celebrating “The Messiah”

Murphy has a rich, musical past. He began singing gospel at a young age. In the 70s he toured as a member of The Platters, whose hits include “The Great Pretender,” “Only You (and You Alone),” and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.” Touring with The Pretenders brought Murphy to Utah. In 1978 he moved to Utah and began his solo career. He has directed many choirs, and when he’s not spending time co-conducting, he is commuting to his job in Washington, DC., Murphy works with the choir members in teaching them the energetic and upbeat gospel sound that delight audience members from year to year. The Lawmen

August 23, 2011 in Rock by TMC

Genre: Rock
Website: http://www.myspace.com/thelawmenband

The Lawmen The music scene is ready for a new set of heroes. A band of men united under one cause. A band of men brought together for one purpose and one purpose only. To bring their brand of showmanship back to the music scene. For too long, music has been stale. No one daring to break the mold of what is popular. No one daring to take the lead. Now, that band is here.

With guitars blazing like the thunder of a 6-gun shootout at high noon, The Lawmen bridge the gap between the gunslingers of 1879 and a brand of melodic rock. Bringing with them, an incredible audio and visual assault upon an unsuspecting audience. Hailing from the Badlands of Utah, The Lawmen were formed in 2003 and have a proven track record of appealing to all age groups from 10 to 75.

At no time in history has anyone ever captured the look and feel of the old west and combined it with hard hitting melodic rock. Its a combination that works, and it works well. Making up the band is Michael “The Kid” Coones on guitar and co-lead vocals. Holding down the bottom end is the well seasoned bass player, Bruce “Big Gun Willy” Wilson. Craig “Doc” Sames holds the band together with his own form of thunder on drums, and DB Long sings co-lead vocals and handles the Sax as if it were a 6-gun. Belting out solos until it is too hot to handle. We are also happy to introduce a very sweet line of backup singers to the band. Sugar & Angel. We call them “The Lonesome Doves”
Song Title: Outlaws Of Love

The Dropzines

January 10, 2010 in Alternative, Featured Artist by TMC

Genre: Alternative
Website: http://www.dropzines.com

The Dropzines: A COLLECTION OF CIRCA 1930′S PERIODICALS DEDICATED TO ESSAYS ON NATIONAL DEPRESSION AND MASS EXHAUSTION.

The Dropzines’ singer/songwriter/guitarist, Shawn Stabley, has been composing and performing melody-intensive music since he was a teenager. From 1988 to 1991, Shawn wrote, sang and played bass for the NYC alternative rock group, The Dutch Provos. In ’91, Shawn, along with fellow Dutch Provos’ guitarist, Tim Archer, founded The Most Sordid Pies. The Pies, as they became referred to by fans, recorded their debut LP, “Grit & Sunshine,” along side producers John Siket (Sonic Youth, Phish, Yo La Tengo) and Kramer (Shimmy Disc Records), utilizing legendary rock recording facilities, Bearsville and Power Station Studios. The gritty, yet euphonious acuity of “Grit & Sunshine” would, without a doubt, have gotten The Pies their “just dessert” had its release not been suddenly halted by the bankruptcy of its label’s parent company, Power Station Records. Sadly, The Pies would not recover from the harsh turn of events, and “Grit & Sunshine” would never see its release date, as they disbanded in 1995.

Shortly afterward, Stabley switched from composing and performing his songs on 4-string bass to a 6-string electric guitar, and in 2000 founded the true vehicle for performing his musical compositions, The Dropzines. Accompanied by the perfect vocal harmonies and dead on percussion accuracy of Jason Kline (York, Pa) and the soulful bass of Grant Jenkins (Baltimore, Md), The Dropzines sound has been described as “The Beatles meets The Sex Pistols” or “The Replacements meets The Standells”.

Jason Kline, The Dropzines’ drummer, grew up in a family with a music room, but no TV. He took drum lessons for many years from his father, learned to play piano from his mother and taught himself to play guitar. By 15 he had fashioned his first musical collaboration with a punk influenced band called Youth Alliance. A few years later this vocalizing harmonist, who grew up with music in his soul, would showcase his talents at venues he had only dreamed of. Although his early influences were the likes of Buddy Rich and Lars Ulrich, his tastes ranged from punk to alternative before settling into heavy electronica. In 2000, Jason joined The Dropzines, in part because of the intricate rhythms and meters of Shawn’s writing, but the ear-pleasing harmonies they sing together draw a crowd by themselves!

As bassist for The Dropzines, Grant Jenkins’ musical experience is second to none. He started on the bass at the modest age of 15, and has had more than his share of bands with whom to collaborate. Most notably, he was with The Reputations for five years and Love in 25th Century for three years before joining The Dropzines! This phenomenal bassist plays anything from four- to seven-string bass, and leaves the crowd begging for more!

With the 2004 release of their 10 song debut, “Between Sheets and Walls” , The Dropzines have gained worldwide attention through continual  Radio airplay and the placement of 3 songs from “Between Sheets and Walls” appearing in theDamon O’Steen directed film, “29 Reasons To Run” and The Samsung Fresh Films 2006 release, “The Super Dupers”. In addition to “29 Reasons To Run” winning best feature at 4 different Film Festivals in 2006, the soundtrack has won “Best Impact Of Music” at Park City and “Best Music” at the Bare Bones film festivals.

With a 2nd album, “Celebration Of Sorrow” recorded and due for release in 2008, The Dropzines are scheduling tour dates that will include The United States, Holland, Germany, Japanand Australia.
