Dante Thomas American R&B Singer and Musician

July 31, 2012 in News by TMC

| Website | Facebook | My Space | Twitter | You Tube | 26 Management |

Who is Dante Thomas? Lets start with a kid from SLC, UT. He came from the boulevard of broken homes and dreams, fueled by an unquenchable fire, blessed with the voice and gift of old Motown. He started from humble beginnings, the son of an opera singer, being taught to never give up or give in. 18yrs young, he heads to NYC, praying and working for his dream. Finally getting a break, he goes gold and platinum with a song called “Miss California”.

He begins touring with N’SYNC. He rubs shoulders and parties with the best of them. He cuts songs with Pink, Akon, Nick Carter, Pras, Neyo, Boys2Men, Intro and Snoop Dogg. He works with Scott Storch, Chucky Thompson, Vada Nobles, and Easy Mo Bee. But, like so many artist’s, he lost himself in the smoke and mirrors of the music industry.

If he were like most other artist’s, who have experienced such madness, he would have let his ship sink years ago.Yet he still believes his dreams are as magical and relevant as ever. He knows if he buries his talent in the ground, he might as well spit in Gods face. Besides, he also seeks to prove the doubter’s and the haters wrong, and at the same time, give his fans and the world, an artist that wasn’t created by corporate media, but an artist made from good old fashioned blood, sweat, and tears, the stuff legends are forged from. He analyzes his weakness’s and corrects them. He crafts a new album, he cuts his body up like a Roman statue. He reaches for Heaven, because he knows that in reaching for Heaven, the least he’ll attain is the golden gates. World5 ” Global Experience “

July 9, 2012 in Alternative, Featured Artist by TMC

| Website | Review | Activity | Facebook | Twitter | You Tube |

World5 coalesced around the idea that music can transcend distance. The five members had all played together in various bands in the U.S. and Europe. But that was then.Today, they live on three difference continentsspanning 19 time zones from the U.S. to Australia.

Yet distance was no barrier to their creativity and shared sense of musical purpose. Thanks to the power of home digital recording, each member recorded his part in the comfort of his own home.Sure, it eliminated the intimacy of playing in the same room.

But it also freed them from the traditional stresses of recording. No scary red recording lights to rattle their nerves. No worrying about paying for recording studio time. No plates of unappetizing cold cuts moldering in the control room.

That didn’t mean they didn’t talk. There were weekly chats on Skype and a steady flow of email to hone the vision of each song. And the occasional midnight phone call to hammer home an important point.

Ray Tarantino – Changing man

June 11, 2012 in News by TMC

| Website | Facebook | Twitter | My Space |

It’s fair to say that Ray Tarantino has experienced enough in his relatively short time on earth to fit into several lifetimes. This native Italian Nashville-dwelling singer-songwriter’s story is not typical of the many tune smiths who have come out of that most independent of cities.

Emerging from a 100mph car wreck near Rome five years ago, Ray walked away from the mangled BMW sports car and into a very different future. As he so poetically puts it, the accident saw him “break out of the golden cage of respectability”. And into what? A new life in America.

Just two months later, Ray had produced his debut album – the wonderful ‘Recuscant’ – alongside former Simply Red bassist and co-founder Tony Bowers. Now, Ray has delivered yet another poignant, beautiful set of songs that show he has taken the songwriting form to yet more exulted heights.

The eponymously titled album, available online at www.raytarantino.com and through all e-stores, is the culmination of both a physical and emotional journey and is by far the best work of Ray’s brief but illustrious career. Read the rest of this entry →

The Marimba Duo – Playing up a storm

May 30, 2012 in News by TMC

Marimba is not an instrument that might mean a lot to everyone around the world. But Japanese pair Tatsuo Sasaki and Michiko Noguchi are determined to put it on the map. Known collectively as The Marimba Duo, Sasaki and Noguchi play this sublime, ancient wooden instrument with skill, dexterity, and artistry that few have managed before. And with the release of their exquisite new album – ‘Tempest’ – The Marimba Duo are likely to introduce a whole new generation to the wonders of the marimba.

Both are skilled performers in their own right, with Sasaki’s musical journey having already spanned the globe. He has performed across Europe, North and South America, as well as his native Japan, and has worked with the Israel Philharmonic, American Symphony, Japan Philharmonic, and San Diego Symphony.

The natural sound of wood – bringing warm feelings of nostalgia to any listener – is used on this beautiful recording to reinvigorate classic works from great composers ranging from Bach to Beethoven, via Debussy and Ravel. They also reinterpret traditional Bulgarian dances and present a vibrant re-imagining of Whelan’s popular Irish classic ‘Riverdance’. On this effervescent ‘Riverdance’, Sasaki and Noguchi are joined by another quartet of percussionists. It’s a combination that will have everyone in the room up on their feet and dancing.

On ‘Tempest’, the imagination of this duo of musical pioneers is there for all to see. All of these re-workings of much loved and admired pieces of music bring a fresh perspective and will be appreciated by those who know the works and those who don’t. You may not know much about the marimba, but in The Marimba Duo you’re unlikely to find better teachers.
