World 5 … A stab at your soul with incredible accuracy!

Have you ever tried a long distance relationship? How did that work out for you? How about trying to communicate an idea or thought, only to have the core concept of the idea to be completely distorted by the recipient … hey … doesn’t that happen with MOST politicians? I digress. And I know what you’re thinking right now … what the heck? I thought this was a music review! And I’d have to say to you … patience, young Padawan … a review is more than just words sprawled across a page depicting the essence of a song …. much, much more. Especially when speaking of ‘World 5′.

‘World 5′ is more than just a group of musicians getting together and jamming out. How’s that? you say! Well, they don’t necessarily get together … at least in the physical sense. You see ‘World 5′ is made up of, you guessed it, five musicians from around the world. Literally, around the world. This quintet spans three different continents, 19 time zones, thousands of miles and countless experiences. Now, keep that in mind as you listen to their music (or not) because they never got together once to record their newest album, “Global Experience”. Nope, not once. They all recorded their parts in the comfort of their own homes and shipped the product off to Randy Miller in Houston, Texas, to have it mastered … now that’s awesome.

Now if you’re the sort that enjoys some good Adult Contemporary Rock music then ‘World 5′ has their finger on your pulse. No need to look any further to get your fill on wonderfully structured lyrics, melodically soothing harmonies, and soul grabbing rhythm that bites at the point just beneath the sternum that makes you want to sway uncontrollably into a dance that may just win you a place on Dancing With The Stars … really, I mean it! Of course, my dancing looks more like convulsions, but you get the idea.

My favorite song thus far has got to be “All My Heart”. Why? Because it takes me back to the days of Bruce Hornsby and Mike and the Mechanics. To be honest, I had totally forgotten of those days and this was the sweetest memory jog I’ve had in a very long time. The song has some beautiful harmonies during the course that just makes you want to sing along, and musically …. well, it has everything. Interluding synth that brings the background alive, groovy percussion that borderlines genius, soul soothing guitar work and eclectic piano. How can you not like this song? Really … How can you not?

I have to hand it to “World 5″. I haven’t felt so intrigued by this genre of music in decades and I’ll have to say…I had a hell of a time listening. Keep it coming!

Chis Lavigne Review

Chis Lavigne’s new song, “Simply”, opens with a powerful strike of emotion pouring forth from his guitar that grabs the listener and instantly propels them into a copacetic state of easy listening. In an instant the listener can hear the bluesy influence as Chris’ unique style carries you through the song.

A subtle bass line under the melody of the piano holds the field as Chris lays more of his soul into “Simply” through his heartfelt solo. Well balanced and worth a listen for those into the slow melodic scripts of a blues felt love song.

Siberian Jay Music Review

Every once in a while you come across some music you just have to share with your friends that you just know will impress the hell out of them. In my humble opinion it’s not easy sifting through the masses of independent bands to arrive at that one clique that just stands apart from the rest. With that said I would have to recomend a hard listen to a band from Finland that cools the tediousness of that long search.

“I’m Holding,” from Siberian Jay is a fast paced hard hitting pillar of rockitude that gives way to a level of coolness that eagerly shakes the scale of awesome. The drive and rythm that builds this anthem of rock pours from a contribution of solid guitar and wicked drums.

Interludes of well placed breakdowns add to the wealth of musicality that seems to just easily erupt from this band and holds enough change for any attention deficit rockster to hit repeat on a consistent basis that would burn wholes through the compact disc.

“Colorblind” is another song that has an immense amount of coolness as it rides that edgy line of rock while flowing from verse to chorus. One can’t seem to get enough of the wealth of rythm and change as your carried on your virtual chariot of sound weaving across the landscape of a pleasure islnad in a vast ocean of change. While largely different from “I’m Holding”, Siberian Jay has hit the proverbial nail on the head with these two songs.
