I am fulfilling my ambition to write and record an album and release it to leave some kind of legacy. I discussed the idea with a Melbourne studio owner who just happened to have worked with some of the worlds biggest artists (that’s Melbourne for you), turns out he loves Trad/Folk music so we agreed to work towards some dates once I had written more songs.
I advertised for any traditional instrument players who were interested in recording with me and after a few responses from strange people, Peter O’Shea contacted me who had an incredible passion for my songs and pretty much insisted he would be involved, little did I know Peter is Nationally multi awarded as Australia’s premier fiddle player and an amazing guy, he would go on to arrange the music and play fiddle, mandolin, cello and didgeridoo on the tracks which we completed in September, when Aboard the Nova Scotia and St.Kilda mailboat were done.
I have been working with Peter on 4 new songs which are now ready to record and many more ideas for the album which will be completed by mid 2013, only held back by the fact it’s completely self financed. One thing Peter and i did decide was that this album would be done with the best musicians and without compromising the quality, hence the time frame.
