Who is Dante Thomas? Lets start with a kid from SLC, UT. He came from the boulevard of broken homes and dreams, fueled by an unquenchable fire, blessed with the voice and gift of old Motown. He started from humble beginnings, the son of an opera singer, being taught to never give up or give in. 18yrs young, he heads to NYC, praying and working for his dream. Finally getting a break, he goes gold and platinum with a song called “Miss California”.

He begins touring with N’SYNC. He rubs shoulders and parties with the best of them. He cuts songs with Pink, Akon, Nick Carter, Pras, Neyo, Boys2Men, Intro and Snoop Dogg. He works with Scott Storch, Chucky Thompson, Vada Nobles, and Easy Mo Bee. But, like so many artist’s, he lost himself in the smoke and mirrors of the music industry.

If he were like most other artist’s, who have experienced such madness, he would have let his ship sink years ago.Yet he still believes his dreams are as magical and relevant as ever. He knows if he buries his talent in the ground, he might as well spit in Gods face. Besides, he also seeks to prove the doubter’s and the haters wrong, and at the same time, give his fans and the world, an artist that wasn’t created by corporate media, but an artist made from good old fashioned blood, sweat, and tears, the stuff legends are forged from. He analyzes his weakness’s and corrects them. He crafts a new album, he cuts his body up like a Roman statue. He reaches for Heaven, because he knows that in reaching for Heaven, the least he’ll attain is the golden gates.Labels have always been looking for artist’s like him. But lately, the music industry has become blind! Slaves to fear and low record sales, ran no longer by Clive Davis or Quincy Jones, but accountants! We all see it happening from the sidelines, watching the music industry die faster than a star at light speed.

Makes Music To Feed The Soul.~ Dante Thomas is one of Europe’s hottest stars. He possesses the edge of a very magical, and emotional voice in contemporary pop music. Has worked with artists’ such as, P!nk, Fat Man Scoop, Pras of the FUGEE’s, Snoop Dog, Kenny Greene from INTRO, Ne-Yo, and AKON. DT has toured with N’Sync and Fergie, and has written the song ‘COMA’ off of Nick Carter’s new album.

Introduction:
The sky is grey-blue, and I find myself looking out the window of an apartment in Hamburg, Germany. A city well known for it’s night life, and famous for giving many artists and bands their first shot in the music business including ”The Beatles.” It’s early in the morning, and I’ve just arrived for a short interview. Sitting with me is a man by the name of Dante Thomas. We sit in his living room and enjoy a cup of coffee. He’s thumbing through a German magazine and for a moment it almost seems he understands what he’s reading.” And then he explains, ”That’s where I left those lyrics.” I then realize he was looking for a song he had written, that was hidden within the pages. As we begin talking about his new album, without wasting any time, Thomas plugs in his MP3 player, and begins playing his music.

This time around, Thomas’ newest album, ”Hardcore On A Videotape”, compromising 12 songs, is a complete step away from ”Miss California.” Thomas had more direct creative control in writing this new album. His first single, ‘Damage Is Done” is an up tempo track. Whether in the car or club its an incredibly catchy tune, and the perfect jump off for the 1st single! I begin to press for questions about his album, and concerning his personal life… when there was a knock at the door. Upon answering the door, there was a driver explaining he was there to pick Dante up for a studio session. He excused himself, and five minutes later he was ready to go. As we walk down the stairs, I hear his dogs barking in the background. We come to reach the main floor, and I feel someone brush my shoulder as they walk by. As I turn to look then back again, Thomas is reaching out to give me a hug, saying, ”Thank you for your time, I hope you enjoyed the music”, getting into the car he drives away.

Our time was short, but I was impressed. It’s still dark outside from the rain, just as it was when I arrived. I walk down to the busy intersection to find a cab. As Thomas’ magical songs, run through my head, I’m left with a feeling of anticipation. Dante Thomas’ new album is for the serious, and the casual. With an even number of dance songs and ballads, this album is sure to be received with open arms throughout world. In the end, I feel DT as an artist, and look forward to the release of his new album. It’s sure to be one of the best for 2012.
